The Challenge
Many seniors struggle with oral health issues that cause shame and embarrassment, while also facing real barriers like limited access to dentists, cost concerns, and transportation challenges. The goal was creating a campaign that educated seniors about how they can take charge of their oral health in a way that feels empowering and practical, not preachy or overwhelming.
My Approach
I focused on removing the shame factor while keeping things actionable. Instead of lecturing about what seniors “should” do, I wrote copy that acknowledged their reality: that small steps matter, that it’s never too late to start, and that you can improve your oral health at home. All of this using a tone to help the reader feel like they were talking to a neighbor, not being lectured by a health professional.
