CCOF Foundation Endowment Article
Client: CCOF Foundation
Project Type: Memorial tribute and fundraising article
The Challenge
The CCOF Foundation needed to announce their new endowment fund in a way that honored the memory of the donor who had passed away while also inspiring other people to contribute. This was delicate territory, balancing genuine grief and celebration of someone's life with the practical need to raise funds. Plus, I had to explain what an endowment actually does in terms people would care about, not just financial jargon.
My Approach
I let Becky's story carry the fundraising message rather than making a direct ask feel pushy. Through interviews with her husband and CCOF colleagues, I focused on her values and what mattered to her: the relationships, the mission, the small joys like finding perfect waterfalls. I positioned the endowment as a way to continue her work rather than just asking for money, and made sure her personality came through in details like her love of bees and hot springs.
